Create a presentation from an outline
The problem
You know what you want to say, but turning it into slides takes hours.
Recommended approach
Choose by where the deck needs to end up: PowerPoint users try Copilot first; for a fast first draft from nothing, Gamma; for design-heavy, on-brand visuals, Canva. In every case, agree the slide titles before the design.
Try this now
- Write the purpose. Audience, the decision you want, and the slide count.
- Get message-led titles. Ask for one-sentence slide titles first; edit them until the story works.
- Generate the slides. Use your app's AI, Gamma or Canva with the agreed titles.
- Simplify. Cut text; one idea per slide.
- Check facts and charts. Verify every number and claim before presenting.
What you should get: A slide-by-slide storyline you approve, then an editable draft deck.
Audience: [who]. Goal: [decision you want]. Length: [N] slides. From this outline, write ONE message-led title per slide (a full sentence that states the point), plus 2–3 supporting bullets. Don't add facts I didn't give you. OUTLINE: <paste outline>
Check the result
- Each title states one clear point
- Every number and chart matches your source
- Nothing invented was added
- Design follows your template if required

- You are allowed to put this material into that tool. Check your workplace policy first.
Why this approach
Why it fits
- Here a specialist really changes the output (a finished deck), not just the wording.
- Gamma and Canva have useful free access.
- Getting the storyline first avoids polished but empty slides.
When not to use it
- Strictly branded corporate decks: start from your company template.
- Data-heavy slides where every chart must be exact.
